Project Background

The proposed Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) is approximately 5 km in length, connecting Kallang - Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) / East Coast Expressway (ECP) in the east and Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) at South Quay Viaduct (SQV) in the west. The construction works will be divided into 6 design-and-build civil engineering contracts.
The advanced engineering study for MCE is divided into three phases (Phase A, B & C).  Phase A study was completed by Parsons Brinckerhoff Pte Ltd (PB) in early 2007.  Phase B and C studies were subsequently also awarded to PB.  YWL Engineering Pte Ltd (YWL) was engaged by PB as the viaduct specialist sub-consultant for further evaluation and development of the interface structure at AYE and SQV based on the selected scheme in the Phase A study.
